Coaching / Consulting

This is service is suited for clients who desire feedback and guidance on handling a matter that appears complex or overwhelming to them.  It is appropriate for parties who prefer to not have the other party in the room with them.  Individual coaching can be offered in a variety of ways.

It can serve as a vehicle to understanding and exploring options available given your circumstances, in particular through a separation or divorce.  Coaching an individual to prepare for mediation, settlement meetings or a court is offered.  Learning to manage emotions during and after meetings can minimize costs associated with proceedings.

Melissa has also provided individual coaching to small business owners.  She promotes supporting local businesses and is happy to help a business owner interpret and navigate the needs of their employees.  Leading a team successfully will lend to positive outcomes in your business.

Relationships come with their strengths as well as areas that need special attention and nurturing.  When those areas are not tended to, the propensity to personalize increases and communication begins to break down.  Perhaps one party is looking to leave the relationship and another is not.  It may be that both people in the relationship feel they have “tried everything.”  These are appropriate reasons to seek a consult as a couple.

Melissa is a trained Discernment Counselor and specializes in relationship dynamics.  She is able to review the strengths of a couple as well as identify their needs.  Melissa can support a couple in targeting their efforts.  Through identifying and reviewing the relationship needs, couples can gain clarity and opportunity.

Every part is connected to another in a family system.  The emotions and influence that accompany this system may interrupt the ability to thrive at times.  If you are finding it difficult as a family to move through adverse circumstances, Melissa can provide support and guidance.  Melissa utilizes her experience in family systems to assist with developing a plan that is tailored to your family.

Co-parenting is an arrangement where both parents share responsibility for raising their child or children in a unified manner that promotes cooperation, healing and growth.  Coparent coaching provides parents an opportunity to express their interests relative to their children.  It is conducted in a neutral setting with a professional who is experienced in working with children and families of divorce.  The focus is on developing a parenting plan by utilizing creative solutions that meet the various needs of the family.  Issues range from how the children will spend their time to day-to-day parenting decisions.

Coparent coaching provides an opportunity to improve communication between the parents as their parenting relationship moves forward.  The coach can assist parents in building upon the strengths of each party.  This approach allows children to feel safe and secure so they can thrive as children in their family system.  Stepparents and extended family may be included in the process as needed.
